I always meet amazing clients who are excited about how to surprise their special ones with the perfect outfit, and the inherent question is ‘How do I make it special enough for him or her?’
Last Tuesday, I received a call from a prospective client who had been recommended by a customer. They needed an African design shirt. To which I responded I would go the following day and send them pictures since I did not have on any of my gadgets. [That is a story for another day]Being a Lock down season, I had to walk seven kilometres to my work place. On my way, I received a message from my client asking me to buy a gift bag for the person to whom she was giving the shirt. This made me realize it was not simply an ordinary purchase but a gift.
This meant that I needed to know the person she was gifting better.When I arrived at my workplace, I sent her several pictures from which she failed to choose. This prompted me to ask her for the name of the person so I could look them up. And thanks to facebook, I got valuable information about the person’s dress sense. It is is on the basis of that, that I advised on what shirt to take.
Originally she was looking for a long sleeved shirt and yet the only shirts available were short sleeved. She went with my recommendation with the addition of a Lwazi crafted card.Before I could get home, she sent me a ‘thank you’ message saying that the recipient really loved the shirt.
When planning to give a crafts, you need to consider;
- The age of the person receiving the gift.
- Their sense of style.
- Their skin complexion.
- Their color preference.
- Their work and social circle. [For example a high court has a very different social circle from a graphics designer]
In brief, you should always take time to know more about the person you are gifting and provide your designer with that information so as to make an informed decision on the choice of craft piece.All the best as you celebrate the people in your life with the perfect gift.
